What
is the C3PA?
It
stands for Clarion 3rd Party Association. It is an association of developers
who develop 3rd party products for SoftVelocity's
Clarion family of products.
Which
developers are currently members?
Why
are there so few members?
Many
developers make use of the C3PA standards, and display the logo, without
becoming formal members.
Why
should a developer join the C3PA?
1. If their product
meets the C3PA requirements, they are allowed to display the C3PA Approved
logo with their product install, and also with their marketing material.
2. They will have
a voice in amendments to the C3PA standards.
3. Their names,
and logos will be listed on the C3PA "Links"
web page.
4. They will have
access to the C3PA Toolkit which contains examples,
and utilities, which make adherence to the standards easier.
Why
should a user care about the C3PA logo?

The C3PA logo tells customers that a product conforms to a set of 'standards'.
These standards are there to ensure that the customer has a better experience
with 3rd party tools.

What
does it Cost?
For
the customer, it obviously costs nothing. For the Supplier, at present
there is no charge although in the future there may be a nominal fee to
cover web hosting and administration.
How
can I join?
All
the information you need to know about joining is found in the Join
page.
